In this subheading of the skills build I will be detailing all of the basic features I will learn on Premier pro to then develop those ideas into more complex ideas and features I can have at my disposal
The Rule of Thirds
The rule of thirds is a way to make pictures look more balanced and interesting. Imagine your image divided into a grid of 9 equal parts (like a tic tac toe board). Instead of putting the main subject in the middle, place it along the lines or where the lines cross. This makes the picture feel more natural and pleasing to look at.

Basic editing
I was tasked with creating a very simple football highlight reel, using video clips that only included the kickoff, goals, and full-time whistle. Between each clip, I added a 12-frame cross dissolve in line with the style guide. This project serves as the foundation, from which we’ll progress to more advanced editing techniques and multi-camera coverage instead of relying on just one. The match used for this edit was Manchester United vs Barnsley from the 2023/24 season.
